Special Forces Association Chapter III Thailand
Nate Chapman / Erawan Memorial Chapter
|
Chapter III is located in the Majestic Kingdom of Thailand. We were reactivated in April 2, 2002 and are headquartered in the City of Bangkok. We were previously a DLIC (Detachment Left In Contact} of Chapter 46 in Guam from 2000-2002. We are named after the 1st U.S. service member killed by hostile fire in Afghanistan, SFC Nathan R. Chapman. He was a Friend and a Comrade to many of our members. We are also co-named the Erawan Chapter, which is the Three headed elephant symbol of the Thai Special Warfare Center. One of the greatest assets of our chapter is our close-knit ties with Thai Special Forces and Thai military. We sometimes conduct parachute operations with the Thai SF, Royal Thai Marines and Royal Thai Border Patrol. We also conduct numerous annual fund raisers and charity events such as Independence Day Celebration in July in Bangkok, Water Projects, and Care for Kids, and the 2004 tsunami relief. Our popularity is drawing members from all over the world and our countries op tempo sends our comrades though Thailand frequently which allows us to maintain close ties, we help out and support them in any way we can while taking care of the needs of our members in the South East Asia region. Please come and join us whenever your travels bring you to Thailand.
